Modern society tends to want us to move at a blistering pace. Many people today find themselves overworked and stretched thin by various commitments. Unfortunately, this experience is often true for Christians as well.
In this episode, Aaron confronts the issue that is keeping us from being able to slow down and find rest. We’ll look at the real obstacle to finding rest and how we can embrace God’s gift of Sabbath rest. Check out our show notes below for highlights and resources from this episode.
Show Notes
The greatest obstacle to us finding rest is often not outside of us but inside of us.
“The enemy of the Sabbath is a heart that is clinging to control.”
Sabbath rest is a posture of the heart before it is a posture of the body.
Are you unable to take off? Say "no" to work?
Can you enjoy activities that aren't "accomplishing" anything?
Is your heart seized with anxiety over every small uncertainty, bump in the road, or challenge? Do you find yourself on the edge of burnout?
