In late May of 2020, our country was rocked by yet more examples of police brutality and racism against members of the African American community. The tragic stories of Ahmaud Arberry, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd re-opened conversations on race and the need to change in our country. We hosted a conversation on this topic between Aaron and Pastor Jeff Williams.
Jeff Williams is the pastor of The Open Door Church in Lafayette, LA. He served in the Army for a full career before going into ministry full time. As an African American pastor, Jeff has lead multiple churches that are either multi-ethnic or majority white. In these episodes, we get to hear Jeff’s story, his view on race relations in America, how Christians should be discerning in the narratives we hear, and how everyday believers can pursue racial reconciliation.
