I am a pastor, teacher, writer, and podcaster. I equip you to live with biblical clarity in our chaotic world.

My name is Aaron Shamp and I am a pastor, teacher, writer, and podcaster. In 2014, a small team and I planted Redeemer City Church in Lafayette, LA. We’re a young, growing church and I love serving as their Lead Pastor. I have a M.A. in Christian Apologetics from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

It’s also my pleasure to serve as an adjunct instructor for Leavell College at NOBTS. Since 2019, I have been teaching apologetics as a part of the program for their minor in Christian Apologetics. I was also happy to develop the course LCTH2344: Introduction to Apologetics, which has been added to their core curriculum for all majors. In addition to teaching, I love doing and teaching apologetics through my writing and podcasting. You can find those articles and podcast episodes on this website.

In my spare time, I love to read, workout, and cook. I’m a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and coach at Ragin Fitness Co. My wife and I have two children, Norah and Gideon, and a dog. We love living in the heart of Cajun country!

redeemer city church

We started Redeemer City Church in September of 2014. Redeemer exists to be a church for the skeptic, the curious, and the committed. Our primary strategy is to make disciples and develop leaders for the kingdom.

Leavell College (NOBTS)

Leavell College is the undergraduate school of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I am an adjunct instructor and I teach apologetics.
